Down the Rabbit Hole

Eat It and Like It Asks Why Few People Talk About Brunch at Husk Savannah

Jesse Blanco of Eat It and Like It went back to Husk Savannah for brunch after a new fall menu. His October 12, 2026 article lists what he ate and when brunch runs.

Why does a restaurant that has served brunch for years get so little talk? That is the question Jesse Blanco of Eat It and Like It asks in an article from October 12, 2026.

He starts with how the scene changed. Sixteen years ago, a Saturday brunch in Savannah meant a short list of places, and B. Matthews was the go-to. Now he says the scene is huge, with croissant and mimosa spots, big hotel spreads, and bachelorette party stops. He says Collins Quarter and the late Ordinary Pub helped start the modern scene.

Husk Savannah, 12 West Oglethorpe

Then he turns to Husk. Husk Savannah sits in a historic building at 12 West Oglethorpe, and he says it has served brunch for years. He writes that it "deserves the same conversation as the big names."

With a new fall menu, he went back and recorded a 13 minute episode of the Eat It and Like It Podcast. The article lists what the table ordered, including roasted Tybee salt bomb oysters, a pastrami Benedict, a Cheerwine pancake, a frittata with collard greens, fried chicken with pimento cheese grits, and the Husk burger.

He calls the espresso martini the one miss. He says it was thinner and more watery than one he had a couple of years ago, and he adds that he is picky about espresso martinis.

Brunch hours and the Sunday drink rule

The article says brunch runs Saturdays and Sundays from 10 to 2. It also says Georgia law means no mimosas or espresso martinis on Sunday until 11 a.m., so he suggests Saturday if you want a drink before then. The room was packed when he left, and he says word is out.

Both places named in the article are on BellyUp! Savannah. Husk Savannah is at 12 W. Oglethorpe Ave., and B. Matthew's Eatery is at 325 E Bay St. Both are in Historic District North. We did not check the new menu or the current hours ourselves, so confirm with Husk before you go.
