Savannah Restaurants That Have Closed

Savannah restaurants and bars that have closed, each with a date. One of them still takes online orders on its website.

It is no fun to plan a trip around a place and find the door locked. This page lists Savannah restaurants and bars that have closed, with the date for each one.

We checked on 6 October 2026. If a place is on this list, do not trust its website, its map pin or an old "best of" article.

Closed Savannah restaurants whose websites still look open

These three are closed. We opened each website ourselves on 6 October 2026, and this is what was still there.

RestaurantClosedWhat its website still says
Finches Sandwiches and Sundries, Thunderbolt11 April 2026Still has working "Order Online" buttons. The only hint is one line that reads "Monday - Sunday : Closed"
The Ordinary Pub, Broughton StreetDark since September 2024Still says "The pub is down but not out!" and still tells search engines it takes reservations
Bernie's Oyster House, River StreetJuly 2023Still says it has two locations in Savannah, one on River Street

Finches is the clearest case. It lost its lease six months ago. A person who finds the site today can still start an order.

The Lady & Sons did it right. Its old web address goes straight to a goodbye note that names the last day of service. That is all it takes.

The Lady & Sons closed on 31 July 2025

Paula Deen's flagship restaurant closed without warning on 31 July 2025, after 36 years. Her takeout room, The Chicken Box, closed the same day. Plenty of visitors still plan a Savannah trip around it.

Her other local room, Paula Deen's Creek House on Whitemarsh Island, closed in January 2023. Bread & Butter is in that building now.

Savannah restaurants that moved instead of closing

  • Trick's BBQ left Bull Street in 2024, left West Bay Street in December 2025, and is now at 1218 Waters Avenue.
  • Limani on River Street is run by the family behind Olympia Cafe, with nearly the same menu.
  • Pritchard & Co. on Broughton Street carries on some of the Starland Cafe recipes.
  • Fishbar took the old Squirrel's Pizza space, and Flora and Fauna took the Back in the Day Bakery building.

Closed Savannah restaurants whose web addresses were taken over

When a restaurant closes and lets its web address lapse, someone else can buy it. Several closed Savannah places now send visitors to gambling pages. One was taken about six months after the restaurant closed.

That is why we never link to a closed restaurant's old website from this page.

Sources: Eat It and Like It, the Savannah Morning News, The Savannahian and WTOC. We also read each restaurant's own website on 6 October 2026. Where no source gave a reason, we say so. National chains are left out. If we have one wrong, tell us.
